Al Khubairat Choral Society (AKCS) is a community choir based in Abu Dhabi. We respect the privacy of our members, volunteers and others who interact with the Choir, and we aim to collect and use only the personal information that we need.
AKCS collects a limited amount of personal information to maintain an accurate record of its members and their contact details, and to communicate with members about choir activities, rehearsals, concerts and other relevant matters.
We only use personal information for appropriate choir-related purposes and take reasonable steps to keep it accurate and secure.
We regularly take photographs and/or videos of Al Khubairat Choral Society at rehearsals, concerts, performances and other choir activities.
AKCS may use photographs and videos internally for choir-related purposes. Where photographs or videos are to be used externally, including on the AKCS website, social media, concert publicity or other promotional materials, we seek the appropriate consent.
For adult members, consent is requested directly from the individual. For student members, consent is requested from their parent or guardian.
It is entirely at your discretion whether to provide consent. Choosing not to provide consent will not affect your membership of AKCS or your participation in the Choir.
You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us at alkhubairatchoralsociety@gmail.com. Where reasonably practicable, AKCS will remove images from its website and social media following a withdrawal of consent. Where an image has already been included in a PDF or other publication that has been distributed, it may not be possible to retract copies that have already been shared; however, the image will be removed or replaced in future versions where appropriate.
AKCS is a community group supported by the British School of Al Khubairat (BSAK). BSAK may also use photographs or videos of AKCS activities to celebrate the work of the school's music department and the Choir's contribution to the school community.
Where appropriate, members may therefore also be asked to provide consent for their images to be used in BSAK publicity and communications.
BSAK's information and data protection procedures are available on the school's website.
AKCS does not sell or otherwise commercially share members' personal information.
Personal information will only be shared where there is a legitimate choir-related reason to do so, where consent has been provided where appropriate, or where we are required to do so by law.
If you have any questions about how AKCS uses personal information, would like to know what information we hold about you, or wish to withdraw consent for the use of photographs or videos, please contact us at:
alkhubairatchoralsociety@gmail.com
We will consider and respond to privacy requests appropriately and within a reasonable timeframe.
We may update this Privacy & Data Protection Notice from time to time to reflect changes in how AKCS operates or uses personal information. The latest version will be published on the AKCS website.
